Volunteer Needs

While we always have many opportunities for you to help, WASART has immediate need for the following volunteer positions. If you have skills, or even just a desire to help, and any of these roles call to you, please contact us at info@wasart.org for more information.

Fundraising Committee Chair

Since WASART receives no government funding, fundraising is key to our ability to operate. The chair of the fundraising committee is responsible for:

• Developing, proposing, and executing fundraising strategies
• Managing the fundraising committee
• Developing and managing budgets
• Fostering relationships with donors and sponsors
• Collaborating with other committees
• Attending regularly scheduled board meetings

Ideally you’ll have some fundraising experience, but more important would be having great organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills.

Sheltering Committee Chair

Sheltering is where it all started. The chair of the sheltering committee is responsible for maintaining WASART’s preparedness for emergencies that may require sheltering. That includes:

• scheduling and leading sheltering committee meetings
• attending monthly Board meetings
• assisting at shelter related trainings and events
• managing sheltering equipment
• scheduling work parties as needed
• reviewing and updating forms, polices and procedures as needed
